Pauseful Mind ("Pauseful Mind", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how Pauseful Mind collects, accesses, uses, stores, processes, and protects information when you use the Pauseful Mind mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using Pauseful Mind, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
01Information We Collect
We collect or access information necessary to provide the features of Pauseful Mind. The categories of information may include the following, described in detail in the sections below: account information (if you choose to sign in), emotion and mood information, step and activity information, basic device/technical information, an optional local profile name, and any information you voluntarily send us.
02Account Information (Google Sign-In)
Pauseful Mind offers an optional sign-in feature using Google Sign-In. Signing in is not required to use the core features of the Application, but some features may require an account.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive and store the following information from your Google account, as permitted by Google:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google account profile photo URL
- Your sign-in method (e.g. "google")
- The date and time your account was created
- A unique account identifier (UID) generated by Firebase Authentication
We use this information solely to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and personalize your experience within the Application. We do not use your account information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Google Sign-In is provided by Google. Google's own collection and use of information as part of the sign-in process is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.
03Emotion and Mood Information
Pauseful Mind allows you to voluntarily record your emotions and moods. This information may include:
- The emotion or mood selected by you.
- The date and time associated with your mood entry.
- Your mood history within the Application.
- Patterns or summaries generated within the Application from your recorded mood information.
We use this information to provide emotion tracking, mood pattern analysis, mindfulness, and wellness features.
04Step and Activity Information
Pauseful Mind accesses your step count through Android Health Connect, after you grant the required permission, to provide fitness, activity, and wellness features. This is health- and fitness-related information.
This information may include daily step count, activity information required to provide the relevant Application feature, and historical step information where required by the feature. We use this information to display your activity information, provide activity and wellness features, help you understand your activity patterns, and support features that use activity information as part of the wellness experience.
Pauseful Mind does not use step/activity information to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. This information is accessed only when the required permission has been granted through Android Health Connect. You can revoke this permission at any time through Android Health Connect or your device settings. Pauseful Mind does not sell your step/activity information.
05Device and Technical Information
Beyond the account information described in Section 02, Pauseful Mind does not intentionally collect or transmit device identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise location information, IP addresses, or other personal technical information to our servers.
The Application may access basic device information locally when necessary for the Application to function, such as the device operating system and application version. Pauseful Mind does not currently use third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising SDKs, or other third-party tracking SDKs, beyond the Google Sign-In and Firebase infrastructure used to operate optional accounts as described in this Policy.
If you use Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication may automatically process limited technical information (such as IP address and device/browser metadata) as part of authenticating and securing your sign-in, consistent with standard Firebase and Google security practices. This information is not used by us for advertising and is not sold.
06Local Profile Information
If you do not sign in with Google, you may still optionally enter your name within the Application to personalize your experience. This name is stored locally on your device and is not stored in our remote database.
The Application provides a "Delete Data" (or similarly named) function that clears this locally stored profile information, along with other applicable local application data, from your device.
07Information You Voluntarily Provide
You may voluntarily provide information when you contact us or use features that allow you to submit information directly to Pauseful Mind. This may include feedback, support requests, messages sent to us, and information you voluntarily provide when contacting us about the Service. We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, maintain the Service, and address issues related to the Application.
08How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service. To operate and provide Pauseful Mind and its features, including account sign-in, emotion and mood tracking, wellness features, mindfulness and meditation features, activity and step-related features, and personalization.
Pattern Analysis and Insights. We may process information within the application to provide mood patterns, activity patterns, wellness-related summaries, and personalization and recommendations. Any analysis performed using emotion or mood information is intended to provide general wellness functionality and is not intended to provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
Improving the Service. We may use information available locally within the Application, and account information stored remotely, to maintain and improve the functionality of Pauseful Mind. We may also use information you voluntarily provide to us, such as feedback or support requests, to identify problems and improve the Application.
Communication. If you contact us, we may use the information you provide to respond to your request, provide support, or communicate with you about the Service.
Legal and Security Purposes. We may process information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, protect our rights and property, prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents, investigate violations of our terms or policies, and protect the safety of users and the public.
09Health, Fitness, and Wellness Information
Pauseful Mind may access health- or fitness-related information, specifically step/activity information, to provide wellness and activity-related features. We treat health, fitness, emotion, and wellbeing information with appropriate care. We do not sell your health, fitness, emotion, or wellbeing information, and we do not use this information for advertising purposes unless this Privacy Policy is updated to clearly describe such use and such use is permitted by applicable law and platform policies.
Pauseful Mind is a general wellness and mindfulness application. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or medical advice. You should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional for medical or mental-health concerns.
10Permissions
Pauseful Mind requests permissions only when necessary to provide specific Application features.
- Android Health Connect: to access step/activity information to provide activity and wellness features.
- Notifications: if notification functionality is available and enabled, to provide notifications.
- Google Account access (optional): if you choose to sign in with Google, to authenticate you and create your account.
You can manage or revoke permissions through your device settings, your Google account settings, or Android Health Connect settings. If you deny or revoke a permission, features that depend on that permission may not function.
11How We Store Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through Pauseful Mind.

Account information is protected using Firebase's security infrastructure and access-control rules that restrict each account's data to that account's authenticated owner.
12Data Sharing and Disclosure
Pauseful Mind does not sell your personal information.
Your account information (name, email, photo URL) is processed by Google Firebase, which acts as our service provider to operate authentication and database infrastructure — it is not shared with any other third party for their own purposes.
Your emotion and mood information is not sent to or shared with external artificial intelligence services or third-party APIs for analysis. Your step/activity information accessed through Android Health Connect is not sold or shared by Pauseful Mind with third parties for their own purposes.
Legal Disclosure. Pauseful Mind may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful request from a government authority. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Pauseful Mind, our users, or the public.
Business Transactions. If Pauseful Mind is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
13Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
Pauseful Mind does not currently send your emotion or mood information to an external artificial intelligence service or third-party AI API. Any mood or emotion pattern analysis provided by the Application is performed using information available within the Application and is intended for general wellness and informational purposes. Pauseful Mind does not use emotion or mood information to provide medical diagnosis or treatment. If our data-processing practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as required by applicable law and applicable platform requirements.
14Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Account information is retained for as long as your account remains active, and is permanently deleted when you delete your account as described in Section 15.
Because emotion and mood information is not stored in our remote database, we do not maintain a remote database copy of your emotion entries. Information stored locally on your device may remain until you delete it using the Application, clear the Application's data, or uninstall the Application.
15Account and Data Deletion
If you signed in with Google, you can permanently delete your account and all associated account data at any time.
Deleting your account in-app:
- Open Pauseful Mind and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
When you delete your account, we permanently delete your Firebase Authentication account and your associated Firestore document (including your name, email, photo URL, and sign-in method). This action is irreversible and cannot be undone.
Deleting your account does not delete emotion/mood information, your local profile name, or step/activity information, since these are not stored on our servers to begin with — they can be cleared directly on your device as described in Sections 03, 06, and 14.
We may retain limited information after account deletion where necessary for legitimate reasons such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance with legal obligations, as permitted by applicable law.
16Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through the Service, including relying on Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore's built-in security infrastructure for account data. However, no electronic transmission, internet service, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security of information.
17Children's Privacy
Pauseful Mind is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us. Where applicable law establishes a different minimum age for consent to processing personal information, we will comply with the applicable requirements.
18Third-Party Services and Links
Pauseful Mind uses Google Sign-In and Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to operate optional accounts, as described in this Policy. These services are operated by Google LLC and are governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and security information. Beyond this, Pauseful Mind does not currently use third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
The Application may contain links to external websites or services. These websites or services are not controlled by Pauseful Mind and may have their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that we do not control. You should review the privacy policy of any third-party service before providing information to it.
19Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access to your information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, object to or restrict certain processing, and request information about how your information is used. Some rights may be subject to legal limitations or exceptions. To exercise applicable rights, contact us using the information in Section 22.
20International Data Transfers
Your emotion, mood, local profile name, and step/activity information are not transferred to our remote servers or third-party service providers.
If you sign in with Google, your account information (name, email, photo URL) is stored and processed using Google Firebase infrastructure, which may store and process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using the sign-in feature, you consent to this transfer as necessary to provide the Service. If our data-processing practices change further, we will update this Privacy Policy as required by applicable law.
21Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy.
